Development and Marketing Manager

Position Summary:
The Development and Marketing Manager is a full-time position responsible for donor solicitation and stewardship, grants, database management, marketing, and connecting with key constituent groups. The Manager has a unique opportunity to represent an incredible institution and promote it to a wider audience, sharing and increasing its impact through their efforts. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with staff.
Development Functions:
- Manage fundraising: donor solicitations and stewardship, appeals, and special events.
- Collaborate with Board Development Committee.
- Assist Executive Director in stewarding major donors.
- Oversee CCMS development software. Create monthly fundraising reports and other donor database reports as needed.
- Manage grant and foundation applications, renewals, and reporting, including upkeep of calendar. Work with grant consultant as needed.
- Track grant data and reporting requirements.
- Develop relationships with grant partners, donors, volunteers, staff, community partners, governments, and businesses.
- Revitalize the School’s corporate sponsorships.
Marketing/Publicity Functions:
- Build relationships with faculty and staff to help with fundraising and publicity work.
- Manage social media presence in collaboration with staff.
- Oversee website updates and content, weekly and monthly email updates, in collaboration with staff.
- Maintain digital archive of current and historic communications, photos, video, etc.
- Create a limited amount of content, public relations and marketing materials and communications strategies and work with vendors to produce materials.
- Develop relationships with community partners (local businesses, area schools, other service/educational institutions)
Organizational Responsibilities:

- Participate in team meetings, all-staff meetings and trainings, and supervision meetings.
Working Conditions:
- Office and music school environment
- Primarily Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends required for fundraising events.
- Occasional travel within the community.
- Position requires minimal physical exertion and the facility is handicapped-accessible. Typing or an equivalent accessible means such as dictate-to-text, occasional attendance at evening and weekend concerts and events to take photos or video and ability to physically file non-digital assets.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Extensive demonstrated development and management skills.
- Comfortable and enthusiastic when engaging with school’s constituents, including donors, student families, board and staff.
- Experience writing and managing federal, state and/or private foundation grants. Familiarity with federal and state grant guidelines preferred.
- Understanding of and experience with database management and other data tracking and analytical tools.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and multi-tasker.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
- Experience managing organization social media accounts preferred. Comfort engaging with different media technologies or a willingness to learn.
- Fluency in English, other languages a plus.
- Photography and Videography skills a plus.
- Graphic design capabilities a plus.
