BACHELOR LEVEL - HEALTH MENTOR COUNSELOR - InSHAPE
Position summary:
Seeking a candidate who has flexibility around their work hours to be part of a dynamic health and wellness team that supports consumers of mental health services in addressing their nutrition, fitness, and wellness goals. This is a community-based position working with children, adults, and families. Meetings will be held at the gym, in clients’ homes, and at other locations in the greater Manchester area.
***$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR ALL FULL-TIME, CLINICAL POSITIONS***
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to identify individualized health and wellness goals
- Provide education and support around nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, etc.
- Timely completion of paperwork and physical assessments
- Develop effective and safe programming for clients in the gym, in their homes, and/or in the community.
- Manage a caseload of 15-25 clients
- Communicate with case managers, treatment teams, PCP offices, community organizations, etc.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Compassion for and a desire to work with individuals who are seeking mental health services
- Ability to work as part of a team approach for the client’s recovery and communicate with others effectively.
- Agency ambassador when working with clients in the community with our community partners.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, social sciences, health, or nutrition from an accredited college or university required.
Experience: Mental Health and/or Personal Trainer experience
Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance with liability coverage in the minimum amounts specified by the agency.
Licensure/Certification: Personal Trainer Certification is required; if you do not currently hold this certification, it is an expectation of the job to obtain this to meet with clients.
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours a week Community Based position. Typically Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM typically but some flexibility when you have a caseload to meet the client’s needs.
