Job Description: 

MHCGM is seeking an energetic and engaging Medical Assistant to join our team in providing care for our clients receiving Medication Management and/or MAR Withdrawal Services as part of their individualized plan of care. The successful applicant will be responsible for clinical duties such as taking vital signs, giving injections, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, sterilizing, and cleaning equipment, ordering supplies, patient education, quality care measures, updating EMR, and data entry to record meaningful use data. Must be certified or registered as a Medical Assistant and possess a current BLS certification and current CPR certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Certified or registered as a Medical Assistant
  • Must have previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a member of a team.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum qualification, graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program

Qualifications: 

Must have previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care.

Experience: 

Experience working as a peer specialist in a mental health center setting and/or substance misuse services is highly recommended. 

Education: 

Certified or registered as a Medical Assistant, current BLS certification, and current CPR certification. Minimum qualification; graduate of accredited Medical Assistant Program.
