NH Nonprofit News Website Starts to Find Its Footing

In the wake of digital era disruption of traditional newspapers and media, the growth of nonprofit news organizations is taking hold not only in the country but around the world. In nearby Vermont and Maine, VTDigger and Pine Tree Watchdog are covering their respective state houses with intense focus. In Nevada, nationally known political reporter Jon Ralston recently launched Nevada Independent to cover the state’s legislature and politics in the critical swing state.

Digital Prospectors Supports Local Community Health Center

Exeter-based technical staffing firm Digital Prospectors recently donated $15,000 to Families First Health & Support Center, continuing its longtime support of the community health center. Since 2010, Digital Prospectors has donated a total of $95,000 to Families First.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation Awards Nearly $2.5 Million to More than 900 Organizations in 2016

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation today announced that it awarded nearly $2.5 million in grants to more than 900 nonprofit organizations in more than 300 communities in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire in 2016. Since its inception in 1980, the Foundation has granted more than $140 million in funds throughout the four states.

YMCA holds 129th Annual Meeting

Nearly 80 members of the community joined the YMCA of Greater Nashua for its 129th Annual Meeting on November 17 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Nashua. During the annual breakfast meeting, YMCA CEO Mike LaChance inducted John Callahan of Hollis into the Y’s Hall of Fame, an honor reserved for those who have dedicated their time and talent to fulfilling the mission of the YMCA.

Spaulding Youth Center Recognizes Community Award Recipients

Spaulding Youth Center hosted our annual Thanksgiving luncheon on campus for all students, campus staff, supporters, community partners and friends. With turkeys once again generously donated by MetroCast, our Food Services department prepared a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. This feast was then proudly served with a smile by Spaulding Youth Center students.

Manchester Community Health Center Lands in Top 5% Nationally

Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC) recently received the highest total financial award granted to health centers in NH, placing it in the top 5% of awards granted nationally by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The awards were based on health centers’ improvements to the quality, accessibility and cost-efficiency of their healthcare, as well as for advancing health equity.

Manchester Community Health Center Receives Award for Quality

In August Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC) received an award of $214,000 from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). A total of $950,000 was awarded to 11 health centers in New Hampshire to invest in quality improvement, building upon their achievements in providing high-quality comprehensive care.
