  • Administrative Assistant/AP Clerk

    Second Start needs help in our busy business office.  Some accounting or bookkeeping knowledge is required. In addition, preferred skills involve answering phones and reception, proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to follow directions and work independently. The successful candidate(s) will be experienced with routine network and common software problems. Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability and enthusiam to learn new things
  • Must be available on-site
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities:
  • Answer doorbell and greet walk-in clients and direct them to the most appropriate staff member to help them
  • Provide day to day administrative support including correspondence and scheduling for Executive Director and other program directors as needed.
  • Be responsible for the management and inventory of all office supplies including postage
  • Answer and correctly direct all incoming phone calls.
  • Receive faxes for distribution to staff
  • Sort and distribute agency mail.
  • Receive and record in logs all checks or cash received by mail or in person.
  • Maintain various cash bags for administration, ie. Petty cash, vending, change bag
  • Provide routine website maintenance
  • Answer all calls regarding HISET testing and scheduling of ABE, ESL testing.
  • Coordination of Board of Directors meetings, mailings and files.
  • File and maintain agency master files
  • Maintain various spreadsheets for management analysis
  • Call DC parents to report sickness, injury or incident.
  • Collate paychecks and earning statements for mailing or distribution.
  • Collate AP checks for mailing
  • Maintain donor management and write thank you letters
  • Perform other duties in the best interest of the agency that are from time to time assigned by the Executive Director.
