Durable Medical Equipment Manager

Job description

Oversee all aspects of the Refurbished Equipment Marketplace (REM) shop and refurbishing of equipment. Support all aspects of the REM shop including but not limited to customer service and sales, computer support and equipment pickup/delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and delivery of donated or purchased equipment.
  • Inspect, clean and repair equipment according to checklists and timeframes.
  • Contact vendors to order parts or technical support.
  • Oversee workshop workflow, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Maintain equipment in showroom, including charging power equipment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Periodic light building and maintenance duties as needed.
  • Oversee and provide training for volunteers and staff as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance or information on equipment when requested.
  • Prepare and maintain checklists, reports, and forms to track all equipment and procedures throughout the refurbishing process.
  • Equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Prepare equipment for website, as well as nationwide shipping.
  • Repair and refurbish equipment to industry standards/ manufacturers specifications within the reasonably expected timelines.
  • Maintain current certifications with DME manufacturers
  • Submit tracking forms and checklists as requested.
  • Operate vehicle within the state motor vehicle laws.
  • Assist in the set up of exhibits at local and state conferences or meetings.
  • Represent the organization at public events.
  • Assist with REM sales as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Conduct all other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certified for repairs and service to major manufacturers equipment such as Invacare, Pride, Quickie, Sunrise, Electric Mobility and Amigo.
  • Ability to use judgement and mechanical skills to modify or customize medical equipment.
  • Ability to work with finance team to set pricing.
  • Make decisions on accepting/rejecting donated equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to OSHA guidelines for cleaning and safety protocols for equipment, and workshop areas.
  • Operate a van with lift, operate a mid-sized truck.
  • Operate a variety of Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Operate wheelchair lift, drill presses, saws, compressors, grinders, jigsaws, bandsaws, propane torch, drills, hand and power tools.

Knowledge of Microsoft products.
Ability to make simple updates to website.
