Digital Media Associate

Fast forward 140 years and The Music Hall - with a second theater, The Loft —has been pivotal in a revitalization of downtown into one of the most robust arts destinations in New England. The mission shall include but are not limited to the following: (a) to maintain one or more theatres with the primary purpose of providing quality theatre, music, dance, opera, cinema, literary discussions, and other appropriate performing arts; and (b) to establish and maintain artistic, student, and community-based programs or series that strengthen the communities that The Music Hall serves.
Position Summary
This position will primarily be responsible for social media (organic and paid) marketing and creating, curating, short-form video production, as well as other aspects of digital marketing for a busy, nonprofit theater in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, presenting hundreds of events a year.
A demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, manage multiple priorities, and showcase expert attention to detail is a must. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in creating social media content and have an outgoing personality, a willingness to embrace the unexpected, and a love of the performing arts. Paramount to this position is working closely with staff in all departments to ensure successful interdepartmental operations.
Attending events to capture content for social media is a vital component of this position, so working some nights and weekends is required.
A bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or similar; or a minimum of 3 years of experience and proven knowledge working on major social media platforms:
Demonstrated ability to grow social media accounts through engagement and followers,
Knowledge of, and interest in, exploring new avenues for social media growth, and ability to create and capitalize on social media trends,
Working knowledge of Google Workspace
Proficient with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, Audition), Sprout Social (or similar), Facebook Ad Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Salesforce, and WordPress
Multimedia and video production experience creating, editing, and polishing short-form video
Schedule: Regular evening and weekend availability is necessary. Occasional overtime may be required.
Exceptional attention to detail
Exceptional written communication skills and an ability to proofread and edit copy
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily achieve the essential duties below.
Produce short video content to use across the organization for social media, internal and external presentations, for partnership pitches, etc.
Manage the online persona of The Music Hall:
Create engaging social media and digital content prior to, during, and after events
Grow and track audiences, engagement, and effectiveness across all digital platforms
Create events listings for website and calendar listing sites
Seek out and manage influencers, content creators, and guest bloggers
Assist with email marketing campaigns and on-premise digital marketing
Communicate social media campaigns and strategies to staff and volunteers.
Write for web, social media, digital advertising, and other writing tasks, as needed
Analyze and report trends and results of marketing data
Develop and maintain vendor relationships
Assist in managing billables and budget tracking
Be a representative of The Music Hall at our events and in the community

Salary/Benefits
$44k-$47k based on experience and skills
