Revenue Integrity Associate

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a full-time Revenue Integrity Associate to join our team! The Revenue Integrity Associate is responsible for the setup and configuration of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform and all facets of the claims processing procedure.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 
  • 1-2 years of related work experience.
  • AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC), AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or AAHAM Certified Revenue Integrity Professional (CRIP) preferred.
  • Proven working knowledge of CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding systems required.
  • Knowledge of Federal billing regulations governing Medicare and Medicaid programs, and working knowledge of other managed care and indemnity (third party) payor requirements.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies with experience in capitated or value-based contracting preferred.
  • Decisive with a detail-oriented perspective.
  • Solution-oriented individual with approach to problems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with associates and other departments.
  • Pre-processing responsibilities include but are not limited to, authorization reports, error identification, clinical communications, charge reviews, administrative corrections.
  • Processing responsibilities include but not limited to claims generation, clearinghouse submission, paper claim printing/mailing, general ledger posting.
  • Post-processing responsibilities include but are not limited to, reconciliation reporting, error tracking, rejection review/corrections.
  • Reconciliation and billing of grant services between EMR and third-party billing platform.
  • Billing error follow-up with clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely claim submission.
  • Anticipates potential billing/reimbursement problems and takes measures to prevent them.
  • Identifies, examines, analyzes patterns of user rejections, and communicates to Revenue Integrity Specialist.
  • Maintains payer set-up within the operating system(s), ensuring integrity of revenue and accuracy to contractual rates.
  • Monitors payer websites for changes related to revenue cycle processes, including but not limited to, medical policies, claims submission procedures, authorization requirements, and distributes information to applicable personnel.
  • Keeps current with industry knowledge, including but not limited to healthcare payers, changing requirements, e.g. authorizations, billing, and reimbursement; sources and attends training sessions as needed to maintain knowledge.
  • Pull insurance remittance advices for payment posting from any and all sites available.
  • Request and maintain incident-to provider schedules weekly.
  • Adheres to patient privacy policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
