Paramedic

McGregor Memorial EMS

McGregor Memorial EMS is a mixed paid & volunteer, private, non-profit, 911 only EMS agency providing ambulance services to the Durham, Lee, Madbury, and the University of New Hampshire as well as ambulance and paramedic intercept services to the surrounding communities.  We respond to just over 2,200 emergency calls annually. 

McGregor also provides education to the public and healthcare providers in pre-hospital emergency medicine via high-quality EMT and Advanced EMT courses and continuing education to approximately 150 students annually.  Our “CPR Safe” program serves schools throughout New Hampshire and certifies over 4,000 people each year in first aid and CPR.

 Full-time, part-time, or per diem

McGregor Paramedics provide non-transport and transport paramedic coverage to Durham, Lee, Madbury, and the Main Campus of the University of New Hampshire responding with volunteer and other career personnel.  They also provide paramedic intercepts to surrounding communities in a dedicated fly car.

Requirements:
  • Excels in effective communication and critical problem solving 
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Active Paramedic certification by National Registry of EMTs
  • Have or be eligible for a New Hampshire Paramedic License
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Have or can obtain current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification
  • PHTLS/BTLS certification strongly desired
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to requests for emergency medical assistance
  • Provide high-quality patient care within the paramedic scope of practice
  • Teach and act as a mentor to newer EMS providers of all levels
  • Perform assigned administrative, operational, and/or educational support tasks
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in a state of operational readiness
  • Opportunities exist for qualified providers to teach CPR, First Aid, EMT, AEMT, and other courses in addition to scheduled paramedic shifts.
