Since merging to form a statewide agency in 2015, we serve 750 children each year by creating, fostering and supporting one-to-one relationships between youth facing adversity and caring volunteer adult mentors.

Development Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of fundraising, in tandem with the VP of Philanthropy and CEO, and in alignment with the organizations development strategy.  Overseeing the daily reporting and stewarding of our major donors, monthly giving program, and overall support of the Development office.   Duties to include assisting with creating and implementing donor appeals; managing segmented strategies; coordinating mailing logistics, and assisting with specialized donor stewardship and cultivation campaigns. The perfect candidate will manage a donor stewardship plan calendar that includes multiple monthly deadlines. The Development Coordinator will also assist with other fundraising and cultivation/stewardship efforts such as special events and special projects.  This position will also provide management and support to our Young Philanthropist for Mentoring (YP4M) group which includes attending their monthly meetings and lead support for the Stiletto Sprint fundraising event.   Attention to detail will be a critical aspect of the job since this role is responsible for the accuracy of the donor database management system including data entry, reports, and analysis.

This is a full time (40 hours per week), statewide position, based in our business office located in Stratham, NH.  This position will require travel within our service regions - Seacoast, Central, Lakes, Monadnock Regions.  This position also allows for flexibility in the daily work day and can include remote work, based on excellent job performance.  As a member of the BBBSNH team there will be an expectation to participate in occasional evening and weekend fundraisers and other events.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills.  Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization and build successful and effective relationships.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in non-profit development/fundraising work.
  • Well-organized self-starter who can manage time effectively and who possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks, to track details, and to set priorities in a fast-paced environment,
  • Ability to engender trust and confidence of donors and prospective donors and to maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment with regard to work responsibilities.
  • Ability to be congenial, professional, and effective in handling situations with donors, staff, Board of Directors and Young Philanthropist for Mentoring.
  • Integrity in dealing with confidential information.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills, plus proven public speaking skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High energy level, self-starter and willing to take initiative
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the regions we serve to meet with donors.
  • Proficiency in MS office Suite, working knowledge of Salesforce required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • Manages own donor portfolio and provides administrative support and calendar coordination as needed for CEO, VP of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships Manager.
  • Assists the Development team with annual mailings to constituents by managing databases, pulling reports, mail merges and sending out on a timely basis.
  • Manage weekly/monthly donor acknowledgment letters, and stewardship postcards.
  • Manage and create Salesforce reports as needed to support overall fundraising efforts.
  • Provides support with the donor activity database updates, including new donor/prospect biographical information, contact reports of entry, and preliminary prospect research. Gather more in-depth information as needed through various search and wealth screening engines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
