Friends Forever International is looking for someone that has big dreams for making the world a better place with the common sense and an uncommon work ethic to make them a reality.

Reporting to the Executive Director, our Program and Community Engagement Manager is primarily responsible for supporting programs and community engagement events and other fundraising tasks. We are looking for a person to undertake a variety of administrative, engagement, and program management tasks. They will help in planning, organizing, and executing leadership programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties, including special events and fundraising. This staff person will be part of our small and dedicated team with opportunities to grow within the organization and learn the nuts and bolts of working at an international youth leadership and conflict transformation grassroots organization.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in working with youth

  • Experience developing and implementing curriculum

  • Must pass a criminal background check, driver’s license must be in good standing with insurance

 

Preferred:

  • Professional fluency in English

  • Familiarity with the New Hampshire education system

  • Fundraising experience (grant writing, in-person engagement, special events)

 

Must possess the ability to:

  • Initiate and lead projects in a highly self-motivated manner with minimal supervision

  • Effectively and respectfully facilitate meetings that include a range of diverse participants

  • Collaborate with diverse groups of people showcasing respect for different cultural perspectives and approaches toward accomplishing shared goals.

  • Travel regionally/internationally is required. Including travel up to three weeks & on short notice

  • Gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports

  • Meet demands of assignments with quick turnarounds and be effective at problem-solving

  • Give high attention to detail, quality, and control.

  • Keep excellent records and practice excellent time-management and organizational skills

  • Multi-task and prioritize effectively

  • Self-direct and adapt to unexpected circumstances and new opportunities with a positive attitude

  • Work outside of personal biases related to sectarian and/or political issues abroad and in the USA

 

Must possess the following:

  • Strong analytical skills and unwavering commitment to quality programs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and develop relationships among a wide-range of individuals and organizations in the non-profit, advocacy, healthcare, and corporate communities

  • Ability to complete data-driven program evaluation

  • Strong training and supervision skills, i.e., communication, evaluation, etc.

  • Preferred experience and understanding of the political contexts in the countries we operate

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures

  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques

  • Demonstrated project planning ability working with multiple partners and coordinating activities

  • Passion, idealism, integrity, and a drive for the mission

  • Positive attitude while representing FFI

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including in public settings

  • Professional appearance and presentation

 

Must be the following:

  • Customer service-oriented, adaptable, resilient, and able to work well in high-pressure situations

  • Tech-savvy, proficient in MS Office. Experience with technology like LGL, Google Suite preferred

  • Highly motivated towards finding creative ways to help young people achieve personal growth

  • Willing to perform tasks assigned by the Executive Director or at his/her direction

Responsibilities:

1) 60% of the position delivers Programming for the purpose of achieving stated outcomes with youth. Responsibilities may include:

  • Directs the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programs

  • Develops and implements creative and innovative curriculum for each phase of the program and comes up with long-term and short-term plans.

  • Directs the program-related work of International/national partner organizations and collaborators, builds capacity, and ensures effective communication between actors.

  • Oversees the training and preparation of program participants and international leaders

  • Directs connections between youth, volunteers, staff, other departments, and/or external constituencies on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative issues

  • Facilitates seminars, meetings, special projects, and problem resolution

  • Manages programs while in session, including acting as on-site staff when abroad

  • Manages program schedules/budgets for all programs, including collaborating with partners

  • Communicates regularly with youth, alumni, and parents in the program, including availability outside normal working hours depending on the situation

  • Designs, monitors, and tracks attendance numbers, program metrics, surveys, and attendee evaluations in order to analyze the data and improve upon future programs.

  • Prepares reports, maintains program/project records and all relevant statistical information

  • Managers our Learn Everywhere and Extended Learning Opportunities both in NH and nationally

  • Supervises and trains on-site seasonal program staff, alumni, volunteers, and/or interns

  • Hires and trains on-site seasonal program staff and core program volunteers

  • Ensures implementation of policies and practices

  • Supports communications through media relations, social media by working with the Marketing Coordinator. Serves as one of the main headquarter contacts for all press related inquiries

  • Collaborates with Marketing Coordinator to write, edit, and develop catalogs, promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, and/or brochures, as appropriate to the program

 

2) 40% of the position directs our Special Events. Responsibilities may include:

 

  • Supports and plays leading role in the planning and implementation of FFI major fundraising and special events including the Golf Tournament as well as open houses and other events. This includes managing the budget and reports for each event.

  • Participates as a member of the development team in planning and implementing FFI’s overall fundraising strategy and programs.

  • Supports Executive Director in strengthening Corporate, Civic, and Rotary Engagement

  • Provides exceptional customer service to maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, and partners. 

  • Assists with public speaking engagements representing the agency/program

  • Solicits in-kind donations and sponsorships

  • Acts as liaison for third-party fundraisers in our communities; attend as needed.

  • Coordinates individual cultivation event activities where needed.

  • Proposes & implements new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process

  • Supports the Marketing Coordinator with the creation of all program and event materials, such as evaluations, promotional toolkits, handbooks, postcards, flyers, certificates, name tags, etc., including assisting in maximizing event exposure and results.

  • Collaborates with staff on the managing of volunteers for programs and events

  • Assists with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities
