Communications Manager

Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, the Communications Manager is responsible implementing a comprehensive communications plan with innovative contents for multiple print and digital strategies. This includes telling the story of our impact by using creative graphics, video and compelling text, while maintaining brand integrity and consistent messaging relative to services.

Part-time, hourly position - up to 20 hours per week.  Work can be remote.

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • 3+ years previous experience in development and communications management in the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and have a deep understanding of fundraising and development needs and how marketing and communications is integral to the overall fundraising goals of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate complex social issues to diverse audiences (Three to five examples of recent communications/development materials which are representative of your skills, including writing and social media samples, are required as a component of the interview process)
  • Ability to adopt the appropriate tone and voice of community, donors, and volunteers through various types of communication.
  • Marketing/graphic design experience preferred, but not required if you are willing to learn.
  • A passion for learning and implementing new technologies with some knowledge of video production and digital photography preferred, but not required if you are willing to learn.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
  • ​​An understanding of philanthropy, health, and human service trends, and GNHC’s mission and goals.
  • Individual accountability, integrity, and honesty.
  • Personal commitment to ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion of all people.
  • Proficient computer skills in a Google Cloud Platform office, MS Office products, CRM or donor management systems, Constant Contact, and Canva
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Word Press desired, but not required.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Propose and implement an annual plan for communication and engagement strategies.
  • Create content for online and print publications, solicitation letters, reports, and other donor stewardship materials.
  • Coordinate production and dissemination of online and print publications.
  • Ensure that information on the organization’s website is accurate and timely.
  • Create and manage a social media plan.
  • Support other stewardship activities, such as event planning, as needed
