Job Summary: The Director of Housing and Support Services provides effective leadership, oversight and direction to all housing and support services program operations. This role is integral in supporting the agencies mission and strategic plan; working closely with leadership the Director of Housing and Support Services is continuously assessing, creating, and implementing programs, initiatives, and SOPs to expand and further housing and support service offerings.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses): 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Human Service or Behavioral Sciences, Public or Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years in Human Services or Business Administration
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required.
  • Work with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Criminal Background Check/Driving Record Check
Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the continued development and evolution of current housing programs; identifying opportunities for improving effectiveness, efficiencies, and new offerings and initiatives. This includes creation, implementation, and reinforcing adherence to policies and operating procedures
  • Continuously assess agency program and service success through evaluation of participant data, facilitation of monthly workshops, staff meetings, and community involvement to ensure continued effectiveness of programs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Supportive and Housing Services Department goals, objectives, policies, priorities, and staffing needs
  • Through effective leadership of Support Services team, plan and implement the FIT strategic work plan.  Manage, direct and coordinate projects and programmatic areas of responsibilities; review, evaluate and assess workload as needed, and develop methods and procedures to help support the supportive services system
  • Mentor, coach and provide performance management to Support Services and Housing Services staff.
  • Responsible for hiring, training and engaging Support and Housing Services staff
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations; includes quality control, auditing, efficiency/service delivery, electronic/written files and reporting
  • Facilitate team meetings with staff to identify opportunities for improvement, resolve problems and direct and implement changes. Ensure effective and cross departmental communication as necessary
  • Manage and oversee appropriate referrals to social/community services, and overall caseload management including working with Job Connection, or other special programs as assigned
  • Maintain continuing interaction and coordination of activities with other departments within the agency and outside public agencies. Respond to inquiries from the public, property managers, and participants of the program, political representatives, or other social services agencies. Represent Families in Transition at professional conferences, work group and committees
  • Analyze performance for area of accountability; present updates to senior leadership and the board on progress, effectiveness and overall attainment of strategic goals for the Support and Housing Services team and initiatives 
  • Make recommendations to leadership on additional support offerings and opportunities to continue growth and development of housing and support services to further the agencies mission
  • Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic and motivating presence at all times.
  • Participate in in-service training.
  • Maintain and promote professionalism, in accordance with the Families In Transition – New Horizon’s Employee handbook
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Vice President, Clinical and Supportive Services
  • Uphold and promote Families in Transition – New Horizon’s mission.
