School Liaison - Children's Program

Founded in 1963, Riverbend Community Mental Health is a private, nonprofit organization providing specialized behavioral health services in central New Hampshire. Core services include 24/7 emergency mobile crisis services; counseling services for children, adults, and families; addiction treatment; and community support, vocational services, and residential programs for adults and seniors. Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time School Liaison to work in our Children’s Program (ChIP). This position may involve work in a local school setting as well, emergency department setting, as well as community locations.

As the School Liaison, you will have the opportunity to facilitate, develop and implement an integrated behavioral health delivery system within the Merrimack Valley and Hillsboro-Deering school districts. You will educate and implement evidence based practices within the school district such as, NH’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) and Wellness through NH’s System of Care expansion grant.

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance or access to a reasonable alternative required.
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in schools and/or behavioral health treatment of families and youth.  Experience with program development preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and across agencies.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for communications about program implementation with the school district.
  • Acts as a core member of all school-level MTSS-B teams, including the District Community Leadership Team, which provides high-level implementation guidance and support for MTSS-B implementation in the district/community.
  • Facilitates the development of policies/procedures that support an integrated delivery system (e.g. developing facilitated referral pathways; ensuring collaboration on school-based teams; establishing communication procedures)
  • Provides behavioral health consultation, coaching, and training to school- based staff to support high-fidelity implementation of social-emotional and mental health supports across the tiered continuum
  • Ensures rapid access to clinical services for students who are un/underinsured, providing therapeutic services as needed
