Student Assistance Program Counselor

Second Start is a private non-profit educational corporation located in Concord, New Hampshire since 1971. Second Start offers a wide variety of programs designed to improve the economic and educational well-being of New Hampshire residents.

Our mission is to help people become more productive workers, family members and community citizens. We provide supportive, affordable and effective educational programs, including: adult basic education, job training and career counseling, education and training for at-risk youth, and child care services.

FY 2021-2022 school-year position available.  32 hours, 4 days per week for a Student Assistance Program (SAP) Counselor at the middle school level. This multi-faceted position provides an opportunity to provide individual and group counseling for at risk students, facilitate classroom discussions around substance misuse prevention, and initiate school and community wide prevention messaging for students, staff, and parents. Potential candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for working with youth and families and thrive in a team oriented environment. Experience in substance misuse and mental health services is required. Extensive training and supervision will be provided. Comprehensive benefit package available as well.


LADC, LMHC, LICSW, or CPS Certification.
