Catholic Charities New Hampshire is looking for a Human Resources Manager of Operations to join our team of dedicated professionals. This position is full time and will work out of our Manchester, NH headquarters (some work will be done remotely).  At Catholic Charities, we strive to provide person-centered services to strengthen New Hampshire families and build independence.  We respond to those in need by offering programs that heal, comfort and empower.

The Human Resources Manager of Operations will work closely with the Vice President of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources Operations to develop, implement and evaluate ongoing Human Resources policies, programs, functions and activities. The Manager will provide direct support to and supervision of Human Resources Generalists at Healthcare Services facilities, outside of the greater Manchester area. Other duties will include overseeing departmental policies and programs with emphasis on employee relations, compensation (including Payroll), benefits, health and safety, and federal government reporting.

  • Bachelor's degree in in Human Resources or a related field and at least 5 years of progressively responsible human resource experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) current certification preferred
  • Expert knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations and report preparation
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Responsible for the on-boarding and training of newly hired Human Resources Generalists at assigned facilities
  • Provide constructive and timely coaching and counseling and serve as a mentor to Human Resources Generalists
  • Oversee activities relating to the administration and maintenance of employee relations, compensation (including payroll), employee benefits, health and safety programs and federal government reporting compliance
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit job descriptions, personnel policies and procedures and employee handbooks
  • Ensure established policies and procedures comply with any relevant federal, state or local legislation
  • On a monthly basis, collect data from exit interviews submitted by Human Resources Generalists, summarize results, identify trends and submit finding to the VP of Human Resources
  • Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc. 
  • Act as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to policies and procedures
  • Execute, to successful completion, special projects assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources
  • Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management, employees and retirees accordingly
  • Assist with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow associated with policies or procedures
