Housing Support Specialist

Greater Nashua Mental Health

Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support. Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders. We offer a wide array of services in office and community settings, serving adults and children.  As the State-designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve everyone who walks in our doors, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for services.  Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care.   We believe that by respecting people as they are, we can help them to become all that they wish to be.

We are seeking a full time Housing Specialist to join our team! The Housing Specialist is responsible for implementing the Bridge Subsidy Program. This position will work collaboratively with the State Bureau of Mental Health Services (BMHS) staff, housing agencies, and service providers to develop and provide stable, affordable, and long-term independent housing opportunities through short and long-term subsidies such as Section 8 vouchers or other types of permanent housing. The Housing Specialist provides assistance to adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses, including homeless adults.

A Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Human Services is preferred.  One year of experience working with special needs populations is required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be available to work flexible hours to provide on-call support for after-hours concerns and emergencies. Familiarity with housing subsidy programs is a plus!

Greater Nashua Mental Health is an eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, NH State Loan Repayment Program and offers competitive salaries and comprehensive employee benefits. Apply today!
