The mission of the PLUS Company, an acronym for People Learning Useful Skills, is to Empower Individuals and Maximize Independence. We serve over 400 individuals and families with offices in Nashua, New Hampshire and Lawrence and Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Our goal is to provide a supportive, innovative, and creative environment that assists individuals with disabilities to develop useful skills, increase self-reliance, and become vital, productive members of their communities.  What makes us unique is that our services allow individuals to explore Home and Life skills, along with Educational/Social and Work Skills all in ONE agency. Programs are created with the vision that all people with disabilities have the confidence, dignity, and skills needed to lead quality lives

Established in 1972 by the Nashua Association for Retarded Citizens, The PLUS Company was incorporated as a non-profit entity in 1978. In 1980, a State of New Hampshire court order mandated that residents of Laconia State School return to live in their communities. This increased the need for community-based services for people with developmental disabilities and resulted in the rapid growth of The PLUS Company. Several group homes were established in the Greater Nashua area, and an emphasis was placed on vocational training.

The PLUS Company, Inc. is seeking a full time, Registered Nurse with a strong interest in overseeing and coordinating health care for adults with Developmental Disabilities.  This is a field of nursing that is expected to grow dramatically over the next several years bringing many career opportunities. While experience in this field is preferred we are willing to train the right person in expanding their skills and knowledge in the area of developmental disabilities.


Position responsibilities include:

  • Teaching unlicensed caregivers how to administer medications using state defined training curriculum
  • Monitoring compliance with  medication administration policies, analyzing the results and writing bi-annual reports to submit to the State Medication Committee,
  • Serving as a clinical resource to clients, staff and families,
  • Designing and teach other health related topics as the need arises.

Qualifications include 5 years of direct patient care in a clinical setting; strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in as busy environment.  Must hold a current New Hampshire Nursing license. A valid New Hampshire driver’s license and an insured vehicle are also required.
