Supervisor - Medical Records

Position Summary:

Supervisor of medical records needed to supervise the day to day duties in the medical records department.

Requirements:
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must have computer skills
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent required

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the related field and some supervisory experience are required.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor disclosure management, event notification, and maintenance of records, as well as tracks data related to patient status
  • Ensure that all health information management practices meet HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 (if applicable), and state standards 
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures 
  • Provide supervision to Medical Records staff

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Participate in inter- and intra-departmental committees and work teams as requested. 
  • Orient new staff on releases of information
  • Supervisor will report to the VP of Quality Improvement/Compliance/EMR
