The Payroll Administrator I is responsible to provide assistance to the Payroll staff as well as develop a positive relationship with payroll vendors, government agencies and internal customers. We are searching for a team player who is dependable and committed to accuracy in their work.

  • Associate Degree in Business, Accounting or related field; or four years’ experience processing payroll with an emphasis on payroll accounting
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to payroll
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Dayforce is beneficial
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently while meeting strict deadlines
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Process various payroll workflows
  • Train staff throughout the Agency to utilize our time gathering and approval system, various uses of payroll software and scheduling, participate in weekly orientations and Manager training series
  • Create and distribute payroll reports as requested
  • Process and audit all multi-state action forms and various data changes
  • Complete timely and accurate wage verification requests
  • Resolve difficult issues and offer solutions with minimal direction
  • Assist in the gathering and preparation of all required information for all various Agency audits
  • Prioritize responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate understanding the importance of employee confidentiality and working knowledge of the Agency’s business practices
