Case Manager, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support. Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders. We offer a wide array of services in office and community settings, serving adults and children. As the State-designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve everyone who walks in our doors, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for services. Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care. We believe that by respecting people as they are, we can help them to become all that they wish to be.
We are looking for a full time Case Manager/Social Worker to join our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services team. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team that offers supervision, training, and a stimulating work environment. The person in this position will provide clinical case management, functional supports, needs assessments and service coordination to deaf adults, children, and their families, as well as skills coaching and advocacy in their homes and/or communities. Job duties also include clinical documentation and community outreach.
This position is ideal for a recent Master’s level graduate who is seeking to acquire additional experience in the field of mental health and deafness. This position is also ideal for a Bachelor’s level candidate who is considering furthering their education and experience in clinical mental health and deafness. Opportunities are present within the position to do clinical assessments, treatment planning and develop clinical intervention skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related field is required. A Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is desirable. Meaningful clinical experience working directly with mental illness and/or deafness is required. The successful candidate MUST BE FLUENT in American Sign Language and English as well as embrace cultural competence working with the Deaf Community. This candidate will be comfortable interacting in Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing cultures. Qualified Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people are encouraged to apply. Possessing excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work well both independently and as part of a team is a must.
