Amoskeag Health, formerly Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC), is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) federally qualified health center offering high-quality, comprehensive, and family-oriented primary health care and support services since 1993. Now known as The Dr. Selma Deitch Center for Children and Teens, Child Health Services (CHS) is the original pediatric practice of MCHC dedicated to improving the health and well-being of at-risk children. In June of 2019, all locations of MCHC consolidated under one name, Amoskeag Health.

Through all its programs, Amoskeag Health serves over 14,579 patients annually across four locations in Manchester.

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Primary care, preventive care, outreach and enabling services at Amoskeag Health are supported in part by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Health Center Cluster grant number H80CS00571. This grant provides approximately 15% of total revenue.

Lead Medical Assistant-Clinical (Onboarding Bonus)

Job Summary:
The Lead Medical Assistant-Clinical actively engages with all practice care teams and departments to facilitate cohesive and efficient day to day patient care and assist with/prevent bottlenecks and troubleshooting issues or problems until successful resolution.  This position’s secondary functions includes updating patient information in both the practice management system and electronic health record, follow up on laboratory, imaging, diagnostic and referral services orders, and assisting with activities to coordinate and track screenings and outstanding care needs in addition to proactively coordinating patient care plans/treatment plan recommendations and preventative services/screenings/examinations due. . This includes assisting with EHR and practice management training.     Additionally, this position will be assigned to cover any MA assignment including assisting a provider or immunization clinics such as influenza and Adult Refugee as indicated/needed. 

Job Relationships:
1. Responsible to the Medical Assistant Manager.
2. Other relationships: Works closely with Nurses, Medical Assistants, Admin Lead MA, Providers, EMR Coordinator, Vaccine Coordinator(s), Health Information Management department and the Referral Coordinator.

Responsibilities & Authorities:

1.Work as an integral member of all practice care teams.
2.Serves as a role model, preceptor and resource for Medical Assistants

Primary Functions:  
1. Point person for outside services (Elliot lab, quest lab, CMC lab, Poisson Dental, Crown)
2. Check and stock nurse station weekly
3. Exam room checklist compliance (infection control, stocking of supplies)
4. Coordinate transportation of and ordering of instruments.
5. Lunch MA (Hours will be 7:30-4:30) Admin Lead will be evening MA (staying until 5:30 or later)
6.  Step in and provide whatever support necessary when needed for unexpected absences and/or identify staffing solution in collaboration with other staff to get the care, treatment and services that the patient needs.
7.  Assist with implementation of newly developed, established and revised policies, procedures and workflows by using positive messaging, support for success and sharing of best practices for most effective communication.
8.  Supports and promotes organizational priority projects.
9.  Promotes quality and safety in all tasks and communications.
10.  Other duties as assigned.
