Foster Care Specialist, Manchester, NH

The Foster Care Specialist is responsible for recruitment and retention of foster homes. Engaging with families to complete licensing paperwork and working with families and referral sources to secure an appropriate child match to the foster home. The Foster Care Specialist will manage the foster care referral assuring timely, appropriate, and effective services. The Foster Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating services that best meet the needs of the foster family and child and will work in partnership with referral sources and other stakeholders, while maintaining communications as well as the development and dissemination of all licensing related documentation.  Specialist will provide training for foster parents and be available for day and evening meetings/events that pertain to recruitment and retention efforts. As the Foster Care Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing foster parent recruitment initiatives. The Foster Care Specialist will conduct home studies utilizing the SAFE model and will collaborate with NH DHHS and other agencies.

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field (Social work degree preferred) plus 3 years’ experience. Experience and knowledge with foster care licensing, outreach and recruitment techniques preferred. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and strong time-management skills as well as the ability to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and situations, while engaging with multiple referral sources.  The chosen candidate will be asked to engage in a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and have auto insurance which meets agency standards. Previous experience with Office 365 and Sharepoint desired.
