Receptionist

(SCS) is one of five community action agencies throughout New Hampshire, and part of the larger network of 70 agencies in New England and nearly 900 agencies nationwide. We have been serving the needs of our citizens since 1965 when President Lyndon Johnson waged his “War on Poverty.” Over the years our programs have evolved and expanded to keep pace with the constantly changing needs of our citizens. We strive to stay in touch with the real needs of the people and find or develop programs that will best serve those needs. Responsible for the general operation of a professional, efficient, pleasant office environment for clients and staff.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in office administration and telephone work
  • Valid NH Driver's license
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for opening the Main Office at 8:30 a.m. Monday-Friday for business. This includes responding to overnight phone messages, ensuring office machines are on, and making certain that daily business can begin
• Responsible for closing the Main Office at 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (unless other staff is working late), locking the main door
• Responsible for answering the Main Office multi-line telephone system. Will route calls to the appropriate program staff extensions or otherwise assist caller with information or referrals as needed
• Responsible for receiving all clients and/or business contacts who come into the Main Office. This includes but is not limited to: providing agency service information and taking "drop-off" information on behalf of an SCS program
• Responsible for keeping information current regarding area agencies and services
• Responsible for ensuring that the information in the lobby area is current and that the lobby areas is neat, clean, and inviting
• Responsible for updated communication via the bulletin board(s) (agency updates, property openings, community resources, etc.)
• Responsible for taking payments, providing receipts and ensuring deposits are made into the cash box. Communication with the Fiscal Department when box is full.
• Provide secretarial support for Program Directors and/or support staff as called upon including but not limited to: typing documents, document formatting, composition of letters and other correspondence, editing of documents, photocopying, scheduling of meetings and appointments, and various errands as needed
• Maintains access to the off site conference room
