Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking per diem Registered Nurses (RN) for our Behavioral Health Crisis Treatment Center for weekdays, evening and weekend day coverage.  The Psychiatric Nurses provide continuous and comprehensive medical screening and behavioral health nursing services to clients served by the Crisis Treatment Center.  Nurses work with the interdisciplinary treatment team in order to de-escalate the crisis.  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Active NH RN license, or ability to be licensed in NH is required.
  • Board certification in (or eligibility for) Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing is preferred.
  • Experience providing care to clients experiencing psychiatric crises is preferred.
  • Experience treating patients with a forensic history, diverse clinical profile and clinical co-morbidities is preferred.
  • Provides medical and behavioral assessments and interventions consistent with client’s individual needs, treatment plan, and generally accepted standards of care/ evidence-based practices. 
  • Documents clinical information in accordance with medical necessity guidelines and agency standards.
  • Refers medical issues to other providers and communicates changes in medication, mental status or physical assessment as indicated and authorized by client. Supports coordination of care between the Crisis Treatment Center and other providers at Riverbend and in the community.
  • Assists community medical providers with questions or calls about medication orders.
  • Maintains inventory of medical/exam room supplies.
  • Adheres to the ethical standards as put forth by the nursing code of conduct and ethics.
