Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization established in 1965 under the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act of 1964. We work with community, state and federal partners to assist children, families, low-income and elderly residents with their efforts to become or remain financially and socially independent through a variety of coordinated programs. Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, shelter and access to other services.

General Description
Intake Specialist provide a variety of client services including conducting intake meetings with clients applying for assistance, assisting in determining program eligibility, and making referrals. Intake Specialist must comply with established policies and procedures. This position is customer service based and does not involve case management.

Education and or Experience
High school diploma or its equivalent plus 2-3 years’ experience in social-services/non-profit or counseling preferred as well as:
• Knowledge of Office 365
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of local agencies and their services for making referrals

Duties and Responsibilites
Intake specialist reports to the Fuel and Electric Assistance Manager and is responsible for being the main intake in our busy Dover, NH location. This includes meeting with clients to determine eligibility by gaining an understanding of the documentation, procedures and policies required by our state and federal programs.
Daily responsibilities:
• Meets directly with clients to collect information, verifies and documents information
• Determines program eligibility, educates participants on use of programs
• Creates and maintains client case files, type case notes, and other related records
• Assists client, if necessary, with application process for other benefits they may be eligible for and/or refer clients to other agencies/services as needed
• Creates and maintains client files

Position Description
• Data entry using FAP/EAP software and EmpowOR
• Has exceptional attention to detail
• Assists in answer phones and other light office duties as needed
• Assists with food pantry duties as needed
• May be asked to work in other agency offices and/or work sites during fuel season as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Employment Screening
Valid Driver's License and insured vehicle (100/300 minimum coverage) for use on the job or acceptable alternative, driving record check, criminal record check, randomized drug screeningcheck will be conducted. License information will also be submitted to the agency’s automobile insurance carrier.
