VP of Corporate Strategy and Development – Concord, NH

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is a statewide non-profit organization whose mission is to promote quality of life with independence for people with disabilities and seniors through advocacy, information, education, support and transition services.

General Expectations:
The VP of Corporate will be responsible for providing overall strategic and operational leadership and direction for all program areas. This position requires knowledge and business acumen of each program’s operations, financial viability and business plan which also focus on the following areas: program leadership and management as well as the development and nurturing of external relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains strategic and business planning processes.
• Ensures timely, effective and standardized strategic and annual planning for GSIL
• Oversees the development and/or implementation of strategic and tactical growth plans.
• Assists in the formulation and validation of growth strategies and facilitates corresponding plans.
• Collaborates with program leadership to launch, grow and enhance programs to meet the organization’s vision and strategic goals.
• Develops effective external market intelligence of community and health care landscape.
• Ensures GSIL stays current with market needs in order to identify business growth opportunities.
• Provides insight and consultation on strategic growth opportunities throughout the organization.
• Acts as the primary facilitator for resources required for the implementation of GSIL’s growth strategy, working with various external leaders.
• Leads and coordinates efforts to facilitate business plan development for new services and operational areas working cross functionally with a variety of entities.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with key leaders and external partners to yield positive results against the organizations strategic plan.
• In collaboration with the CEO, identifies strategic merger/acquisition opportunities and coordinates internal and external resources in the evaluation, prioritization and due diligence of such opportunities.
• In collaboration with the CEO, spearheads and manages new strategic exploration that goes beyond current areas of focus. When applicable, leads/facilitates implementation of new strategic business development initiatives.
• In collaboration with the CEO, identifies, analyzes and helps facilitate alliances/partnerships to increase value to the organization.
• Assures the tracking, reporting and evaluation of business development initiatives to senior leadership.
• Researches, develops and implements innovative fundraising strategies aimed at ensuring a diversified and sustainable funding stream for GSIL.
• Cultivates relationships with current and potential donors to increase revenue streams.
• Manages all grants to ensure quality and timely submission of all applications and required data elements.
• Ensures marketing is supporting GSIL’s strategic plan goals to result in increased growth of donors, consumers, employees and overall public exposure.
• Guides and supports the Board Development Committee in establishing and implementing the development plan.
• Manages department budget in accordance with organizational budget guidelines.
• Identifies and participates in developing potential new funding sources to support programs and services.
• Provides on-going performance feedback and conducts annual performance reviews with all direct staff.
• Manages relationships with partner organizations and State & elected officials.
• Works collaboratively with the senior management team to integrate cross-program activities and functions.

Qualifications:
• Ten years progressive senior management experience in the non-profit human services sector with significant experience in Medicaid and community services.
• Master’s degree in business, human services, or related field.
• Must have demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience and demonstrated success managing funder relationships.
• Proven analytical ability, solid financial acuity and demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Significant knowledge of federal and state disability programs and services.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including grant writing, proposal writing and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively and in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Personal experience with disability desirable.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Conducts other duties as assigned that will increase options for persons living with a disability to live independently in their communities.
