The National Alliance on Mental Illness New Hampshire (NAMI NH) is a statewide, grassroots non-profit comprised of a network of affiliate chapters and support groups, staff and volunteers that provide information, education and support to all families and communities affected by mental illness. NAMI NH’s public policy work includes advocacy for health insurance coverage and access to comprehensive, integrated health care and community-based supports without discrimination or stigma for all who are affected by mental illness.

Our Connect Program is designated as a National Best Practice Program that trains professionals and community members to prevent and respond effectively to suicide across the lifespan.   Our public health, socio-ecological model emphasizes collaboration between service providers.  Best practice protocols are provided for each service provider discipline. The training can be customized to meet the needs of a community or organization.

NAMI NH, a New Hampshire based non-profit, is searching for a entry-level, detail-oriented, organized individual with a positive and flexible approach to problem solving and decision-making. The Accounting Clerk must demonstrate proactive communication skills and be able to meet deadlines and reporting time frames. Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, and the ability to gather and analyze detailed accounting information to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data are important qualities. Heavy emphasis on month end closing procedures, and account reconciliations. This position reports to the Controller.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in accounting. Preferably 1-3 years of related non-profit accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Abila MIP or other similar accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities:

 Assist with grant & contract billing, monthly statement processing and other billing tasks as assigned by the Controller;

•Reconcile monthly employee credit card purchases;
•Assist Accounts Payable Clerk with processing invoices and employee expense reports;
•Assist with the month-end close, post monthly journal entries and verify general ledger balances, perform general ledger reconciliations;
•Assist with year-end audit schedules;
•Communicate with all levels of management;
•Other projects and/or duties as required.
