The Front Door Agency, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization celebrating its 30th year offering support and programs to assist families and individuals in greater Nashua, NH transition from crisis to self-sufficiency. It has a great reputation of serving families at-risk of homelessness in becoming independent through its Transitional Housing, Housing Stability, Affordable Housing, and its Financial Literacy Programs.

We take great pride our delivery of services and in our approach of offering hands-up opportunities to those who are invested in themselves to improve their situations. We believe in dignity, respect, and compassion for all people.

Our main office/headquarters is located at 7 Concord Street, Nashua, NH 03064 and is open Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:30 and closed on Fridays.


The Housing Advocate will be a member of the FDA’s direct service team. S/he will provide case management services to families and individuals who are experiencing a housing crisis, and who are able to live independently to ensure permanent housing stability. The Housing Advocate will work closely with prospective and current clients in providing direction, guidance, establishment of goals, and creating accountability. S/he will lead in service coordination and determine appropriate services/referrals needed; assist in personal budgeting; ensure client compliance with program rules and expectations; document outcomes; and maintain a professional working relationship with staff, community and clients. The key role of the position will be to determine the appropriate housing program necessary and supportive services needed in order to help a family maintain permanent housing stability. S/he will be working in close partnership with local landlords, housing providers and local welfare offices to help families stabilize, transform and ultimately become empowered to reach self-sufficiency. 

This is a part-time position.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission of the Front Door Agency, a keen understanding of its programs and goals, and the ability to articulate the important role the organization plays in the lives of so many families in the Greater Nashua area. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology or similar field; a minimum of three years of direct case management experience; be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel; and have some knowledge or experience working with individuals who have mental health or substance use disorder histories. S/he must possess strong verbal and writing skills, and must have a collegial, team-building style, be able to lift 20 lbs and be flexible to work between the hours of 8am-8pm.
