Requirements:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire is seeking a Lead Teacher for Early Childhood Education program. Candidates must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and a minimum of 18 credits in child development, early childhood or elementary education and a minimum of 1,000 hours working in a licensed program. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, supervising and establishing a nurturing classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, physical and linguistic development of infants in cooperative involvement with their families.

Responsibilities:

Lead Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of early childhood outcomes.
  2. Organizing and maintaining a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive learning environment; ensuring a healthy, safe, clean environment both inside and out of the facility.
  3. Creating a dynamic, fun, creative and interactive classroom experience.
  4. Assessing member’s performance and progress to ensure that they are gaining new skills on a regular basis.
  5. Providing guidance and role modeling to members.
  6. Evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis, including tracking outcome metrics; verifies that programs/activities respond to member needs and addresses their gender and cultural diversity.
  7. Controlling program and activity expenditures within approved budget.
  8. Overseeing proper record keeping and weekly reporting, including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues.
  9. Facilitation of open and effective, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff and children.
  10. Supervision of teacher aides in the classroom and ensuring that they are following program policies and service expectations.

This is a full time position with benefits. Hourly pay rate is between $14.00 and $15.00, based on experience.
