Spaulding Youth Center, located on a spacious campus in Northfield, NH, is a nonprofit dedicated to improving and enriching the lives of emotionally and/or intellectually challenged children, youth and their families. Spaulding Youth Center has part-time opportunities on our Residential Team. The Residential Assistant supports behaviorally-challenged students, ages 5 to 21 years old, with neurological impairments including autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders and those who have experienced significant trauma, abuse or neglect.

Established in 1871, Spaulding Youth Center is a leading provider of academic, residential, therapeutic and foster care programs and services for children and youth with neurological, emotional, behavioral, learning and developmental challenges. Located in Northfield, NH on a scenic hilltop and surrounded by nearly 500 acres of beautiful woods, fields and mountain vistas, the campus offers a safe, supportive and intensely therapeutic environment for students to discover a love of learning while also gaining study, social, independent living, and vocational skills.

Requirements:

Applicants must be compassionate, reliable and have a high level of personal integrity and be able to learn to consistently follow through with treatment strategies to help our students achieve success. CPR/First Aid, Professional Crisis Management and other Trauma-focused certifications are required, but can be obtained through Spaulding training programs. Prior experience working with developmentally and/or emotionally challenged individuals is preferred, but we are willing to train individuals looking for a career that will change lives. Applicants are required to be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities:

We have an opening for our 4:00am to 7:00am, Monday through Friday shift, and some flexible opportunities for the evening shift. Primary responsibility for this Residential Assistant role is to provide direct care and supervision to students during non-school hours. These roles will assist the students as they transition into their daily routines.
