The Program Coordinator will recruit, train and support Foster Grandparent volunteers; place volunteers at youth service sites and supervise the volunteers and the sites in the Lakes Region. The Foster Grandparent Program Coordinators are responsible for assisting the Director of Senior Programs with the daily operations of the program and adhering to Federal grant requirements. Compliance with extensive guidelines is an important part of this role. This is a positive, friendly office environment where you can make a difference and join an excellent team!

Requirements:
  • Associate’s Degree plus experience in non-profits, older adult services, human services, counseling, education, social work or related field preferred.
  • Experience and/or ability to work effectively with older adults and be sensitive to their issues and concerns.
  • Ability to initiate phone calls, set up meetings with new people and maintain positive relationships, including school principals, teachers and office staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to travel throughout NH, particularly in the Lakes Region, Grafton County and Sullivan County to visit sites and promote the program.
  • Strong sense of initiative.
  • Must have experience in MS Office and comfortable learning new software programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage Foster Grandparent volunteers, assignments, and sites (schools, Head Starts, nonprofit childcare centers and other youth service programs) within an assigned territory.
  • Recruit new Foster Grandparents in the assigned areas.
  • Develop new volunteer sites and Foster Grandparent placements.
  • Develop and conduct monthly training workshops for volunteers.
  • Assist with planning of yearly program events.
  • Consistently adhere to fiscal and programmatic requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in role by accepting other duties as assigned.
  • Process Foster Grandparent volunteer timesheets

 

This is a full-time, 37 ½ hour per week position. Our office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Friends Program offers competitive benefits and generous holiday and paid leave policies in addition to mileage reimbursement.
