Age Group Director

Boys & Girls Club of Manchester

The Boys & Girls Club of Manchester is a 100+ year old private non-profit organization with our mission being to reach out to all young people ages 6-18 years, with special concern given to kids who needs us most, providing programs and services that enable our members to become productive, responsible and caring individuals. We currently offer programs at 3 sites during the school year and a Day Camp program during the out of school summer months. We have an annual membership of between 1500 and 2000 boys and girls with an average daily attendance of approximately 450 members during the school year and 350 campers during the Summer Day Camp Program. We offer a wide variety of programs in five core areas with a special focus on academic achievement, healthy lifestyles and character & leadership development.

Direct, manage and oversee the after school program for youngsters in grades 4-5.  Supervise and administer the planning, development and implementation of this program and program staff.  Administer an effective member behavior management program within established organizational responsibilities.  Work with the Union St. Clubhouse Program Director to develop scheduling for this age group into all Union St. Clubhouse program areas.


High School diploma or equivalent required and Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education or related discipline preferred and a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working with youth programming and development in recreation, summer camp or after school program setting. Experience may be substituted for a lesser educational degree.
• Must obtain and maintain mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening including:  criminal background screening and drug screening.


Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of an overall age appropriate program for fourth and fifth grade members that maximizes the use of available resources, achieves organizational goals and is consistent with the Boys and Girls Club approach to Youth Development while ensuring the health and safety of the members. Provide direct service to the members.
