NHEP Employment Counselor/Program Specialist

Southern NH Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified, versatile Employment Counselor/ Program Specialist who can provide crisis intervention, barrier resolution, employment, training, & support services to TANF public assistance recipients within the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP).  

Responsibilities include completing standardized assessments and providing intensive case management and safety planning to clients who are experiencing domestic or family violence, mental health issues, and/or substance use issues. Additional duties include assessing client job skills, interests, & abilities; establishing Employment Plans; monitoring progress towards goals; arranging community referrals, job training, & support services to remove barriers; and career planning.    

This full-time position is located in ConcordNH.  

Candidates require a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Counseling, or related discipline and 1 to 3 years of experience providing direct counseling and/or case management services, crisis intervention or barrier resolution services.  Experience working in education/training programs that include vocational assessment, job placement, and career planning is a plus.   Preferred Qualifications:  Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in providing services to clients and families in domestic violence situations, and/or specialized training in domestic violence services and safety planning.

Salary Range:

Starting wage of $18.58 per hour; 37.5 hour work week.
