For over 60 years the Penacook Community Center has provided exceptional programs and affordable services to the residents of Boscawen, Bow, Canterbury, Concord, Loudon, Franklin, Penacook, Pembroke, Salisbury, Weare and Webster. The Penacook Community Center is truly a cornerstone of this immediate region and plays a critical role in providing safe, healthy and constructive opportunities for physical, social and emotional well-being, as well as educational and recreational enhancement.

Our professional, caring and dedicated staff is proud of the Center’s rich history, and we salute the men and women who gave so much over the years to make the Center what it is today. Though times have changed, our focus remains the same: we too are committed to providing a safe, enriching and happy experience for the people we serve. We have renewed energies at every level throughout the organization and we continually strive to improve the quality and variety of our programs and services. We are very proud to say we are a NAEYC accredited education facility and community center that serves thousands of individuals in all of the varying programs offered.

The families we serve at the Penacook Community Center are primarily working-class families where the primary caregiver(s) must work just to make ends meet. Sending their children to a childcare center is a necessity for most and many of the children are in our care 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. We offer these families affordable quality childcare programs, before and after school programs, vacation camp programs and summer camp programs for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.

The Penacook Community Center, Inc. is looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their work. The Office Assistant provides administrative support to the daily operations of Penacook Community Center.  This position reports to the Executive Director and the pay is negotiable, based on experience and qualifications. Requirements:
  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, and the ability to work with confidential documents.
  • Must pass comprehensive background check.
  • High school diploma / GED.
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to accurately manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines.
  • Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
