Development Director

Seacoast Family Promise

Seacoast Family Promise is an established NH non-profit serving local families with children experiencing homelessness in Exeter, NH.

Job Description:

Development works directly for and with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to plan, organize and direct fundraising including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, special events, capital campaigns and grant writing.

  • Minimum of three years with proven results in the development field
  • Knowledge of non-profit structure, regulations and trends
  • Well organized, self-starter, multi-tasker, flexibility, sense of humor, empathy and enjoys meeting a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and climb stairs regularly
  • Education in communications, fund development, administration or other

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Development

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to create the annual fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Implement the fund development plan in accordance with ethical fundraising principals
  • Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are effective and carried out in a timely manner
  • Identify and develop a wide range of relationships and communicate on various levels.
  • Proven track record of grant writing  
  • Oversee acknowledgement of gifts, pledges, and pledge payments, matching gift claims, tribute gifts and other contributions
  • Support the Executive Director with administrative duties as needed
  • Maintain donor and volunteer database. Experience with Little Green Light a plus
  • Prepare annual reports, monthly development reports and other reports as requested by the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Support the Board of Directors as needed for community representation as SFP ambassadors
  • Facebook, web design and updates, email and list serve marketing and management
  • Some evening meetings and special events outside of regular hours may be required
