Our Mission:

The mission of SOS Recovery Community Organization is to reduce stigma and harm associated with substance use and misuse by providing safe space and peer based supports for people in all stages of recovery.

Our Vision:

SOS Recovery Community Organization envisions a world where recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs is possible and widely embraced through low-barrier access to inclusive and respectful support, and where all who seek long-term recovery have access to the care and resources they need to achieve their self-defined goals.

Who are we?  We are a community based peer organization.  Our values, much of our governance, our strategic direction, our programming and everything about SOS Recovery Community Organization is driven by the community and those we serve.  We are made up of a small staff who are here to provide the framework and structure for our community to drive our programs, services and offerings. 

Our services are primarily driven and run by volunteers who are made up of individuals in recovery, family members, friends and loved ones of those in recovery, or those who may be still struggling with substance misuse, as well as allies in the community.  Much like recovery we are a diverse group with empathy, compassion and a deep passion for all that we are doing to provide a safe supportive environment for those impacted by substance misuse.  We have learned that those struggling with substance misuse are our parents, our brothers, our sisters, friends, neighbors and co-workers and, likewise, the recovery community is represented by all of those at SOS Recovery Community Organization.

SOS is a Program of Greater Seacoast Community Health which is made up of Goodwin Community Health ,Families First of the Seacoast, Lilac Pediatrics and SOS Recovery Community Organization.   We are a comprehensive Federally Qualified Community Health Centers in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. The Marketing and Development Coordinator (MDC) supports all operations and services of SOS Recovery Community Organization (RCO) an initiative of Greater Seacoast Community Health. The MDC is expected to work with key sectors of the community (education, business, government, health, public safety, community supports, etc.)to advance the strategic initiatives of the RCO requirements. The MDC will provide marketing and outreach support for the Direct , staff and members within the RCO. The MDC will be responsible for developing and coordinating a monthly newsletter for dissemination to the community. The MDC will also assist with social media messaging as well as media relations and promotion of event and fundraising events. The MDC will assist in coordinating development strategies of SOS RCO and will oversee donor relations and cultivating ongoing relationships with donors. The MDC will play a key role in networking with the business community and stakeholders in the community. 

Requirements:

Required High School Diploma/GED, Bachelors' Degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years in marketing, outreach, and development experience in a non-profit organization. Working knowledge of a variety of addiction recovery modalities and ability to articulate, support and respect the delivery of multiple pathways of recovery in a community based setting. Flexibility is required as weekly schedule will vary and some weekends and evenings may be required for special events. 

Responsibilities:
  • Networking and community outreach to enhance development and messaging in the business and general community.
  • Strategic fundraising and development planning with the director and advisory board.
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Production and coordination of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Creating and delivering a monthly electronic newsletter to stakeholders
  • Press and media relations
  • Management and oversight of large and small donor engagement and donor databases.
Salary Range:

18,000-21,000
