Clinical Manager

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the supervision of Medical Assistants. This role works closely with all provider teams, all departments, Medical Records, and the Clinical Management team. The areas of focus include Medical Assistant competency and training, management of accuracy of data entered into EMR and PM systems, and the oversight of the immunization program, including tracking, ordering, training and quality.  

Responsibilities & Authorities:

1.Work as an integral member of the health care team.

Primary Functions: 

1.a. Management of the MA’s (Medical Assistants) that work on the clinic floor with providers and performing other patient care related/care coordination activities. This includes creating schedules, hiring, personnel issues, training and orientation, competency reviews, management of timecards and other related duties.

2.b. Oversight of the Immunization Program and the coordinator overseeing this program and compliance with state and federal regulations.

3.c. Oversight of the EMR Coordinators, accuracy and timeliness of reports and overall maintenance of data accuracy of the EMR and PM systems.

 

3.Other Functions:

◾Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned by supervisor.

◾Participate in the orientation of new personnel to these functions.

◾Attend and participate in MCHC staff meetings and other meetings as directed; to include involvement in committees as requested.  If absent, responsible for reading minutes of meetings and signing the documentation.

◾Attend mandatory safety-related and infection control in-services as designated by the Senior Management Team.

◾Sensitivity to cultural diversity of population served.  Maintain client age-related competence.

◾Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Education/Training: current RN or LPN with NH licensure
2.Management/supervisory experience preferred, Medical Assistant experience helpful.
3.Experience in utilization of EMR and PM systems.  Prefer experience in an ambulatory health care environment specifically with pediatrics and immunizations, management experience preferred.
4.CPR Certification Required
