Health Benefit Liaison

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Health Benefit Liaison to join our talented multi-disciplinary team in our Community Support Program working with adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

As a Riverbend Health Benefit Liaison, you will work closely with clients to manage a variety of Medicaid and other health benefit-related functions.  The Health Benefit Liaison will work closely with clients, administrative and clinical staff, as well as the staff at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and other agencies to ensure that clients obtain and maintain benefits for which they qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with the initial Medicaid benefit application process and other required forms
  • Provide community-based support in obtaining verifications
  • Attend face-to-face interviews at the Division of Family Assistance Office in Concord
  • Provide clinical, functional support services to clients as needed
  • Manage the appeal process for denials and attend appointments and hearings as necessary
  • Support clients on their redeterminations if necessary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Rehabilitation, or Human Services is required.
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance or access to a reasonable alternative is required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with Riverbend clientele and demonstrate effective decision-making is required.
  • Experience working in behavioral health services, or experience working with State, Federal or local welfare, disability, or other entitlement programs is preferred.
