Supported Employment Specialist – IDDT Team

Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health Center (GNMHC) has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support. Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders.  We offer a wide array of services in office and community settings, serving adults and children.  As the State-designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve everyone who walks in our doors, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for services.  Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care.   We believe that by respecting people as they are, we can help them to become all that they wish to be.


We have a full-time opening for a Supported Employment Specialist to work with our Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) team! This position insures that clients referred by the IDDT Team for employment assistance obtain employment based on a match between the client’s interests, needs, abilities and goals, and the employer’s needs, and are job coached, as required, once a successful job placement is obtained.

The individual works cooperatively with employers, supported employment colleagues, NH Vocational Rehabilitation, referring agencies, treatment teams, and the client to obtain successful competitive placement at a level commensurate with their skills.  The individual will provide job coaching, if required, and/or desired by the client, to insure a successful job placement.

The position requires a high degree of self-motivation, creativity, and a focus on outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation, Psychology, Education or related Human Services is required; two years of experience in human services field and/or sales experience a plus. Minimum of one year of training/experience in vocational rehabilitation and support preferred.  Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office is needed.
