Camp Counselor

Circle Program

The Circle Program's mission is to provide socially and economically disadvantaged New Hampshire girls with new opportunities to develop the skills, courage and confidence they need to handle the challenges in their lives. We do this by offering the girls a unique combination of adult and peer support that is delivered through residential summer camp and year-round mentoring programs. The Circle Program serves 92 girls and teens (ages 9 through 18)  in 33 towns in central and northern New Hampshire including the Concord, Plymouth and Laconia areas. They are referred by teachers, guidance counselors and social service agencies. The girls referred to the program have demonstrated great potential, but have lacked the opportunities and resources to develop that potential.

The Circle Program uses a research-based Positive Youth Development approach that provides girls with opportunities to develop life skills, explore new interests, give back to their communities, connect with peers and be involved in a supportive, safe environment designed to help them thrive. At Circle Camp, they learn to connect with their peers and become a valued, contributing member of the camp community. Then during the school year, the Circle girls continue to develop their social skills within the one-to-one mentoring relationship. Circle mentors provide girls with positive female role models, unconditional acceptance, and a consistent caring presence that makes a difference in their lives.

Are you excited about making a difference in the lives of girls? Do you love the outdoors or would you enjoy spending a summer in the mountains?

The Circle Program is looking for positive female role models to work with low-income girls aged 9-15 during our 6.5 week residential summer camp. Circle Camp is located on pristine Spectacle Pond in Groton, NH, just south of the White Mountains.
