Media Literacy/Health Education Manager

Media Power Youth

Media Power Youth (MPY), a 501c3, based in Manchester, NH,  empowers youth to lead safe, healthy, successful lives through smart use of media. MPY works collaboratively with parents and the health, education, youth service, public health, medical, prevention, research and media communities to promote healthy behaviors and development while helping youth  consume, produce and use media in a manner that contributes to their wellbeing. MPY’s goal is to integrate media education into schools and community programs from early childhood through young adulthood, while involving youth, parents, caretakers and professionals.

Media Power Youth (MPY) seeks an Education Manager to coordinate and serve as our primary educator in providing high-quality, evidence-based media literacy programs locally, regionally and nationally. The successful candidate will bring Media Power Youth to new heights in media literacy education with special emphasis on helping children make healthy choices.

Based in Manchester, NH, Media Power Youth collaborates with health and prevention programs, school districts, communities, research institutions, businesses and foundations to provide a continuum of evidence based, health-focused media literacy education for youth, parents, and professionals.

The incumbent will develop, implement and help to market evidence-based, health-focused media literacy programs, online and in person, for youth, parents, and professionals to help prevent at-risk behaviors and contribute to healthy development of children, teens, and young adults.


BA and/or Masters in health education, education, media, public health, or related degree and experience working with youth, parents and professionals in media literacy or prevention/community programming. Equivalent experience or education will be considered. Strong presentation and training skills, experience in curriculum design, and excellent command and use of traditional and emerging media needed. 


Ideal candidate would have strong commitment and passion for Media Power Youth’s mission.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching, designing, coordinating and implementing media literacy  programs
  • Coordinating with existing and prospective customers of programs and trainings  
  • Assisting with marketing of training and education programs
  • Researching, creating and editing instructional material
  • Designing online course material
  • Monitoring online course enrollments
  • Providing technical assistance to online course participants and users of curricula  

Skills: Training and teaching (online and in person),  instructional design, media production, database management, Microsoft office, Google for Business, iPad and video capture software

 Adobe, and Spanish language skills a plus.
