Waypoint SleepOut 2019 raises over $332,000

Manchester – Approximately 130 people slept outside Friday night on the cold, wet ground, through whipping winds, in downtown Manchester. They were a part of Waypoint’s 5th annual SleepOut to raise funds and awareness to aid New Hampshire’s homeless youth.  So far, they’ve raised more than $332,000.

Among the many “sleepers” hunkered down outside the Doubletree by Hilton under a giant canopy, donating time and raising money for the cause, were Governor Chris Sununu, Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig, and Congressman Chris Pappas.

They joined several prominent business leaders including major sponsors, PROCON, Bank of America, Velcro USA, Alumni Ventures Group, Rockport Mortgage Corporation, and media partner Rock 101, as well as Waypoint trustee and fundraising star, Lou Kaucic, of the Lakes Region.

Proceeds from the Waypoint SleepOut will help the agency in its efforts to prevent youth homelessness, address the needs of youth who become homeless, redirect the lives of New Hampshire’s homeless youth, and empower them to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community.

The event webpage is still running and donations are still welcome as the agency tries to reach its goal of $350,000.  For more information or to donate, visit www.waypointnh.org.
