SATYA Welcomes New Board Members

SATYA Seacoast Area Teachers of Yoga in Action is pleased to welcome three new members to its board of directors including Betsy Haley, Valerie Berezin and Lisa Fredette. SATYA also expresses its thanks to a founding board member, Jeanne Russell, who has retired after 6 years of service.

Betsy Haley is enthused to be working with SATYA to provide services that bring a greater sense of wellbeing to the people we serve.  She has over 20 years of experience as a holistic practitioner offering energy therapies and intuitive counseling to individuals and groups.  She worked for several years at HAVEN, a crisis intervention and violence prevention center as the Program Director and many years at UNH in various administrative and student development roles.  Betsy lives in Dover with her partner and their dog, loves traveling, enjoys nature and the night sky!

Val Berezin has practiced yoga in a variety of forms for many years, but discovered Power Yoga in 2016 and has been hooked to the mind and body benefits ever since. After working as an investment professional for nearly a decade, she decided to leave the field in September 2017 to spend more time with family and figure out her next pursuit. Always interested in health and wellness, she completed her 200hr yoga training in 2018. Her focus is on empowering others to take risks, live big, and be open to new possibilities. Issues of social justice have been important to Val since childhood and service has always been an aspect of her life. Val has a bachelors and masters degree in accounting from Boston College and lives in Stratham, NH with her husband, two young children, and black lab.

Lisa Fredette  completed her RYT-200 hour teacher training through Seacoast Power Yoga in Exeter, NH in 2015 and has been practicing yoga since 2003.  She is the Senior Director of Treasury and Cash Operations at Kronos located in Lowell, MA managing the banking for the company’s payroll services division.  Lisa lives in Hampton Falls, NH with her husband, young daughter who arrived in 2016 and son arriving in November 2018.  Yoga has been an important part of Lisa’s life ever since her first class, receiving the benefits of feeling grounded, balanced and mindful.  As a full-time working mother, she has found finding the space for yoga in her life more important than ever! Lisa joined the Board of SATYA in May 2018.
