Elm City Rotary Marathons for Mayhew

The Elm City Rotary made the 35th Clarence DeMar Marathon a winning experience, one that keeps on running!

Keene - Thanks to Rotary’s championing and generous $5,000 contribution, the Mayhew Program is sprinting forward in its efforts to help the more than 30 Monadnock area boys it serves run ever stronger toward their best selves!  For Mayhew, this was a most happy photo finish to an experience that began at the starting line several months ago with several other vibrant nonprofits requesting to be considered as the beneficiary of the Rotary’s DeMar Marathon.

The trustees of Mayhew were humbled and thrilled that the program was designated as this year’s beneficiary.  Their deep and heartfelt gratitude races out to the Elm City Rotary and all the sponsors, volunteers and runners who made the 35th DeMar a marathon for the boys of Mayhew!

Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best through an intensive program comprised of a residential summer experience and school year mentoring serving more than 190 boys (32 of whom live in the Monadnock Region) tuition-free for six full years.

Mayhew is a partner agency of the Monadnock United Way.  For additional information, please contact Mayhew at (603) 744-6131 or www.mayhew.org.
