Ascentria Care Alliance welcomes new CFO

Worcester– Ascentria Care Alliance, one of the largest human service nonprofits in New England, announces the hiring of Jeanette Wade as chief financial officer (CFO). She joined Ascentria in March and now directs the organization’s financial strategy, technology, business development, and facilities functions.

Angela Bovill, president and CEO of Ascentria, said, “Jeanette has the experience, knowledge and commitment to excellence that we were looking for in a new CFO. We are confident she will help carry out our mission of empowerment by wisely managing our investments and developing new funding solutions to ensure continued success in our social enterprise initiatives. We feel fortunate and happy to have found an innovative leader with such outstanding expertise and determination.”

Ascentria programs are located throughout New England – Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut – serving children, youth and families; persons with developmental disabilities and mental illness; refugees, including unaccompanied refugee minors; and older adults. Programs include Good News Garage; Language Bank; Services for New Americans; In-Home Care; adoption, foster care and teen parenting programs; mental health and disability services; and senior living facilities.

Prior to joining Ascentria, Wade held several executive positions, most recently as chief financial officer and internal control officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Technology Services and Security. Among her accomplishments were the restructuring of funding paradigms to reduce cost burdens, and establishing profit-and-loss protocols to evaluate operational cost reduction opportunities and expansion of services. She served as finance technology liaison to all entities in the Commonwealth, providing financial transparency.

“I’m proud to be part of Ascentria,” said Wade, “because it is truly pioneering in the human services sector, helping transform lives in communities all over New England. My business philosophy is that every organization can improve in terms of being efficient, accountable and sustainable. Ascentria reflects that same attitude. Our purpose as a nonprofit is to get great results in order to help more people to thrive.”

Jeanette Wade holds two degrees from Harvard University – a Master of Liberal Arts in Business Management and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Strategic Management.
