Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs

The Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs (GMYC) is the youth choral culture of the Monadnock Region. Founded in 1997 as the "Peterborough Children's Choir," the Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization filling a critical need for choral music education and musical expression for young people who love to sing.

Our directors program top-notch choral repertoire drawing from diverse traditions, styles, and centuries. In addition to receiving choral training, children also learn to read and express music, and work together as a team. We nurture the children's lifelong commitments to music and the arts in the hopes that they will continue to sing throughout their lives. GMYC has five different youth choirs and serves over 100 singers from over 16 towns in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Masscachusett.

The Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs is the performance-based choral music education program for young singers in our community. Our Mission is built on four pillars:

Greater - Singers from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont comprise GMYC.

Music Learning - Our singers gain proficiency in music literacy guided by choral experts who adapt to the unique strengths of the singers.

Youth - Singers experience professional rehearsal and performance environments which foster musical expression and lifelong music appreciation.

Community - We contribute to the American and International choral communities through cultural exchange.
