Nonprofits Get It Done: New National Campaign Celebrates and Defends the Vital Role of Nonprofits

From feeding families and sheltering neighbors to responding to disasters and supporting youth, nonprofits are on the front lines every day—often without fanfare, but always with impact.

Now, the National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) is making sure nonprofit work gets the spotlight it deserves. Their new nationwide campaign, Nonprofits Get It Done, launched this month to highlight the essential role nonprofits play in strengthening communities, solving problems, and improving lives across the country.

The message is timely. Nonprofits everywhere, including here in New Hampshire, are facing political challenges that threaten their ability to serve. NCN’s campaign uses real stories from real organizations to remind the public, and lawmakers, that nonprofits are indispensable partners in building a stronger, more resilient nation.

“At a time when the role and rights of local community organizations and charitable nonprofits are being called into question, Nonprofits Get It Done offers a celebration of the everyday impact nonprofits make, uplifting the people, places, and possibilities they help bring to life across the country,” said Diane Yentel, President and CEO of NCN. “Using real stories of actual nonprofits, we are able to remind the public, and our elected leaders, that nonprofits are essential partners in creating stronger communities.”

Here in New Hampshire, the nonprofit sector is woven into the fabric of our communities—providing food security, expanding access to healthcare, enriching cultural life, protecting natural resources, and so much more.

“New Hampshire’s nonprofits are at the heart of our communities, feeding families, caring for our most vulnerable neighbors, protecting our environment, and inspiring us through arts and culture,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits. “This campaign is a reminder that nonprofits don’t just ‘do good’—they get results. We encourage everyone to stand with the organizations that make New Hampshire stronger every single day.”

The campaign also invites the public to take action by speaking up for the organizations that form the backbone of our communities. Whether by volunteering, donating, or contacting elected officials, everyone has a role to play in ensuring nonprofits can continue to deliver for the people they serve.
