Teacher of English to Afghan Adults and Children
About the Organization
Building Community in New Hampshire is a private non-profit organization that provides post-resettlement services to refugees and evacuees seeking asylum. We help new Americans navigate their way to safe, healthy, prosperous, productive, and connected lives in New Hampshire. Our five case managers today are former refugees or immigrants from Afghanistan, Congo, Bhutan, and Ukraine.
Our main office is in Manchester and we have a branch office in Nashua. We work statewide.
About the Job
One of the most powerful tools refugees need to flourish in New Hampshire is English. BCNH seeks a full-time teacher of English to Afghan adults and children in Manchester, Concord, and on-line. The teacher will work collaboratively with our Dari- and Pashto-speaking case managers to build classes for Afghan women, men, children in school, and parents with pre-school children. Instruction will happen in places and times most convent for the learners and the instructor. Many learners will be starting at the basic level.
BCNH has a proud history of serving refugees from Afghanistan and around the world. We are based in Manchester and employee case managers who were refugees themselves. Our mission is to help refugees and other immigrants navigate their way to safe, healthy, productive, prosperous, and connected lives in New Hampshire. Now, as immigrants are facing so much open hostility, BCNH is more important than ever and your skills as a teacher of English are greatly needed.
