Liberty House, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a full-time Peer Support Specialist.
At Liberty House our mission is to remember, honor and support our veterans by connecting them to available resources and providing a safe, substance-free transitional house. Join our dedicated team of professionals as we assist our resident and community Veterans in achieving self-sufficiency
Responsibilities:
- Build supportive, trusting relationships with veterans through shared experiences.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to help residents overcome dependencies, adjust to new circumstances, and implement positive life changes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records related to resident programming.
- Collaborate with each resident to set realistic, measurable goals and create action plans in alignment with the Liberty House 4-Step Model.
- Accurately and promptly document resident interactions, progress, and observations in accordance with program policies.
- Conduct and record regular drug and alcohol screenings.
- Engage with “walk-in” veterans, building relationships and connecting them with appropriate services.
- Collaborate with community partners and maintain a working knowledge of available external resources.
- Participate in Liberty House events and program offerings, including fundraising and client engagement activities.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Human Services or Addiction Counseling preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience providing direct services in a similar environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Military service preferred but not required.
